NICOLE LEE SHIH EN
JB RESIDENT PARTNER
Nicole graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom, in 2018. She subsequently completed the Bar Professional Training Course (Master’s) in 2019 and was admitted to the Bar of England and Wales at Lincoln’s Inn. Thereafter she chambered with a law firm specialising in property, corporate, and litigation matters before being called to the
Malaysian Bar in 2020. She then commenced legal practice with the same firm, where she worked for a period of two years and handled various debt collection matters, contractual disputes, construction disputes, shareholder disputes and other contentious litigation matters.
Nicole joined MKP in June 2022 as an Associate in our Litigation & Dispute Resolution Department. Her practice experience encompasses civil, commercial, and construction litigation, as well as arbitration and statutory adjudication matters. She has handled matters involving debt recovery, illegal moneylending disputes, and appellate proceedings, across all levels of the Malaysian court hierarchy. Nicole has also taken conduct of property and real estate litigation matters, marital disputes, as well as matters relating to wills and the administration of estates. Apart from civil,commercial, and construction litigation matters, Nicole also advises on commercial transactions, real estate, banking, and finance matters, including share, business and property sale and purchase transactions.

In 2026, Nicole relocated to Johor Bahru and joined our Johor Bahru branch as our

Personal Involvements
- Advised on irregular and unauthorised EPF withdrawal.
- Advised on nuisance posed by public transport towards nearby residents.
- Assisted in an arbitration involving a wrongful termination of a cooperation agreement.
- Co-counsel in a High Court claim involving an alleged illegal moneylending agreement and successfully recovered the outstanding sum owing to our client.
- Co-counsel in a High Court leave application and successfully obtained a leave nunc pro tunc (retrospective sanction) for a wound-up company to proceed with legal proceedings.
- Co-counsel in an appeal at the Court of Appeal in regard to setting aside of Adjudication Decisions due to the prospective operation of CIPAA.
- Co-counsel in a High Court claim involving proprietorship of car parks built in a mixed-use development block.
- Successfully defended a statutory adjudication involving certified payment certificates and a Scheme of Arrangement.
- Tribunal Secretary in multiple arbitrations involving construction disputes.
